While my wife (www.brittanypowell.com) is out of town at an artist residency (www.calderaarts.org) , I'm watching a manly movie every night.
Thugs, armed robberies, revenge, vigilante justice, paid assassins, car chases, scuba, exploding cars, exploding boats, exploding buildings, gangs, and the kind of dialogue you would expect from movies with these sorts of things.
Death Wish is a classic action movie. "My heart bleeds for the underpriviledged."
The Mechanic is a classic buddy action movie. "Heroes: half of them are killers"
Death Wish 3 is a classic action sequel. With that, it's bigger and has more explosions. There are no quotes from this movie that need to be repeated.
The reason men like explosions and car chases is the same reason little girls like ponies and princesses.
What manliness can we learn from these Charles Bronson masterpieces?
1. Being a conscientious objector of war doesn't mean you have to put up with baloney
2. Even at age 60 you can be a badass.
Tonight: ROAD WARRIOR
