"hang loose" back story:
when i was a kid (<4th grade) i was sat by a woman named "erlene". her husband "harold" was a school teacher (at the rival elementary, btw) and he would come home, promptly, at 430pm, put on his work clothes and either shovel some dirt in the garden or turn wrenches on his "eagle". one of the shirts he had was a worn navy/dark blue short sleeve t-shirt with 2 white stripes on either sleeve (this was the age of well-made tshirts...more on that, later), on the back it said "hang loose" on the top, a hand with the "hang loose" gesture, and then underneath it said "hawaii". i would always think to myself "why do hawaiians only get to hang loose?" and i don't think i ever stopped thinking that. i guess it's a pretty good thing to think about or live by. i've never seen a shirt like this before, so that's why i'm offering it to you.
